Puppy Training Classes & Socialisation - Wirral & Chester

Dogs Go puppy classes are for puppies aged 12–24 weeks - the prime window for socialisation and learning. If your dog is older than 24 weeks, our adult dog training classes or one-to-one sessions offer the same games-based, IMDT-qualified approach, tailored to older dogs.

Puppy classes at Dogs Go cost £150, which includes five one-hour group classes at Royden Hall in Frankby, two one-hour socialisation sessions at our private Raby Bark Parks,  support during the course, half-price one-to-one training for your dog's life, and a graduation party at the end.

Puppy classes run on Mondays and Wednesdays at Royden Hall in Frankby, Wirral, with new 5-week courses starting every two weeks. Socialisation sessions run on Sundays at our Raby Bark Parks. Book online here or call 0333 444 1236 - courses are capped at 8–10 puppies, so spaces go quickly.

Puppy classes take place at Royden Hall in Frankby, Wirral -outdoors when the weather allows, moving inside the hall when needed. Socialisation sessions are held at the Dogs Go Bark Parks in Raby, our private secure dog fields. We're an easy drive from West Kirby, Greasby, Upton, Heswall, Hoylake and across the Wirral.

Yes - puppies must have completed their primary vaccination course before joining group classes, as they'll be socialising with other dogs. We need them to have had Distemper, Hepatitis, Parvovirus and Leptospirosis. Most puppies finish vaccinations around 11-12 weeks, which lines up neatly with our 12-week starting age. We do not need puppies to have had the Kennel Cough vaccine and we do not permit puppies to attend class or socialisation for 14 days after the Kennel Cough vaccine has been administered as it is can infect other dogs.

Classes are deliberately small - capped at 8–10 puppies, with one qualified trainer and one assistant. That means every puppy and owner gets individual attention each week.

Yes. We use positive, science-backed, games-based methods that work for every breed and temperament, from spaniels to shepherds. Our trainers, Ryan Kilpatrick (IMDT & BCCS) and Bethany Donkin (IMDT), are fully IMDT qualified, so everything we teach follows modern, kind, evidence-based practice.

Bring your puppy on a flat collar or harness with a standard lead (no slip or extendable leads), lots of small high-value treats - tiny bits of chicken or cheese beat dry biscuits (high protein and smelly works best) a mat or blanket for settle work and poo bags.

Socialisation is much more than dogs meeting dogs - it's your puppy learning to feel calm and confident around other dogs, people, sounds and new environments during their most formative weeks. Your course includes two socialisation sessions at our private, enclosed Bark Parks in Raby, held on Sundays, where puppies can safely make friends and practise good manners under expert supervision. For puppies who are reactive or struggle to stay calm around other dogs, group classes aren't the kindest option - a busy class can leave a reactive puppy stressed and set their progress back, and it's distracting for the other pups too. Instead, we'll transfer you to two one-to-one sessions, where we can work on calmness at your puppy's pace before considering group settings.

Life happens! If you're going to miss a class, email us or get in touch via the website and we'll offer you an alternative session or send you a list of upcoming ones so your puppy doesn't fall behind.

If your dog is over 24 weeks, puppy classes aren't the right fit - but you haven't missed the boat. Dogs learn brilliantly at any age, and our adult training classes and one-to-one sessions cover everything the puppy course does, adapted to your dog.

Yes - well-behaved children are very welcome, and we love getting the whole family involved in training. We just ask that one adult takes lead responsibility for the puppy during class.
